Did You Know?

WEEK 9

Did you know “dog brings bones and carries one too?” It’s and old saying but it’s true.

I’m reminded of another old saying, “can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” Now days we have started taking on some of the canine’s tricks, one in paticuliar:

When a dog buries its bones, your dog is following an ancestral urge. Thousands of years ago, roaming dogs did not know where their next meal would come from, so after a better-than-expected hunt, they buried surplus food to hide it from scavengers. When these dogs became hungry, they returned to the secret location and dug up their leftovers. Dirt also served as Mother Nature’s refrigerator, keeping buried bones fresher longer by protecting them from sunlight. This natural “aging” made the bone tastier too.

Your dog may simply be storing extras in a safe place to retrieve later and possibly share with his canine visitors.

The last sentence got me. How does the relate to us then. Well do you know when we come together for the old saying, “what you got good for me.” Meaning they want something they could consume, some good gossip. When a dog shows up, they can’t say what they want but you can tell by their faces they want something to eat. Just like gossiping busy bodies and we give them what they want, not realizing they are taking it all in but with one agenda; they will bury your fiddles for the perfect time. Their perfect time is to use it against you. They won’t use it immediately but when the opportunity presents itself and they need it to feed someone else, they will dig up what you have given them and use it against you. Remember this if nothing else, dogs knows who they come to and get what they want, but you remember, “they may simply be storing extras in a safe place to retrieve later and possibly share with his canine visitors.”

WEEK 8

Pride is worthless but it can cost/cause man everything.

Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall., Proverbs 16:18

What is pride? It is a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction in an achievement, an accomplishment, in someone or something. Pride is also associated with conceit, egotism, vanity, vainglory, with one self or accomplishments.

Do you know that pride is a deceptive mirror that never allow us to see ourselves in error but only others?

In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God, Psalms 10:4

WEEK 7

How many times do we look in the mirror before leaving the house in the mornings? We take at least a few peeps to make an impression on our jobs etc,. No one wants to look unkept.  Do you know that it’s just as important or even more so important that we keep an eye on our life living as well? Most times we can see the smallest speck in someone else’s lives but when we are that focused on one another; what happens to the specks in our lives? What happens is, ours gets neglected and we start looking more and more like the picture below, a mess. We can’t fix our lives focused on each other.

  • We should be mindful to keep our lives mirrored in the Word.
  • Surround ourselves with strong people because He commissioned us to let our light shine; therefore, if the people we are surrounded by are light, the darkness in our lives will show up.
  • When we are surrounded by light everything in darkness will be revealed.
  • Let’s spend more time in the word and focus less on others.
  • Let our lives be the light that reveals the darkness in others so that they are able to see and God be gloried.

WEEK 6

Worried? Do you not know that the night is full of darkness and it cannot be rushed, but just as sure as there is darkness of the night, it can’t be dark always? It has its appointed time. Do you not know that the sunrises out of darkness? Be patient it won’t and it can’t be dark always. Darkness will give way to light. Just rest in Him!

WEEK 5

TWO SISTERS WALKING TOGETHER, ONE HID A PAIR OF SHOES IN HER BAG AND THE OTHER TURNED HER BACK. Do you know that if our brothers and sisters transgresses and we don’t bring correction, we are a transgressor as well. Turning our backs, looking in another direction, remaining silent etc, doesn’t not exempt us. There is a law of “the hands of one is the hands of all.” Here is a couple of verses for thought.

1  Corinthians 12:12-27 For, even as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the one body, being many, are one body, so also [is] the Christ, for also in one Spirit we all to one body were baptized,

whether Jews or Greeks, whether servants or freemen, and all into one Spirit were made to drink, for also the body is not one member, but many; if the foot may say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body;’ it is not, because of this, not of the body; and if the ear may say, ‘Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body;’ it is not, because of this, not of the body? If the whole body [were] an eye, where the hearing? if the whole hearing, where the smelling? and now, God did set the members each one of them in the body, according as He willed, and if all were one member, where the body? and now, indeed, [are] many members, and one body; and an eye is not able to say to the hand, ‘I have no need of thee;’ nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.’ But much more the members of the body which seem to be more infirm are necessary, and those that we think to be less honourable of the body, around these we put more abundant honour, and our unseemly things have seemliness more abundant, and our seemly things have no need; but God did temper the body together, to the lacking part having given more abundant honour, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same anxiety for one another, and whether one member doth suffer, suffer with [it] do all the members, or one member is glorified, rejoice with [it] do all the members; and ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to have known it and turned away from the holy commandment passed on to them. 2 Peter2:21

If you were blind,” Jesus replied, “you would not be guilty of sin. But since you claim you can see, your guilt remains.John 9:41

Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Galatians 6:1

WEEK 4

THE ANOINTING IS NOT BATTERY OPERATED AND IT CAN’T BE BOUGHT. Battery power eventually dies. Manmade power is subject to requirements; you pay each month and I will keep you energized. Doesn’t that sound familiar? Oh but the power of God, there is a price or so we say, because we will have to go through somethings. Oh but this power  remains, even in our darkest hour. We don’t have to do jumping jacks or cartwheel for man to get it.  We won’t even have to open our mouths because it rests upon us like dove. The anointing is one thing you can’t fake, either you have it or you don’t. The anointing makes a difference. “HE IS WHERE HE IS.”  After Jesus had gone into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” Jesus answered, “This kind cannot come out, except by prayer,” Mark 9:28-29

WEEK 3

VESSELS CANNOT DO ANYTHING OF ITSELF;IT’S FULLY RELIANT UPON ITS OWNER. How often do we proclaim that we are His vessel or His chosen vessel? We sometime go a bit further and say, “His vessel willing to be used by Him.” We must first know what a vessel is and its purpose. A vessel is something that is capable of being poured into and at any given time it used to pour out. Being His vessel, we must be positioned as a natural vessel, fully submitted to the owner. I won’t act until instructed and always ready to pour out for other’s consumption.

WEEK 2

YOUR ENDING IS CONTINGENT UPON WHO IS LEADING YOU, becareful who is leading. Every wrong turns, detours, stops and bumps affects you. We all need leaders because we all cannot lead. Leaders are in the front. They are seen first but a good leader should be a willing follower as well even while in front.

Some of the biggest ships are dependent upon what is behind. They know they cannot do it without the tugboats. The tugboats may pale in comparison of size but regardless of the size, the ship needs it to manuever. A good leader will not be threatened by the strength behind them. The ship(let’s call it the leader) can rejoice because it has the ability to travel out into the deep as far as it desires but the tugboat, though stronger, has to stay close to land.  Everything will flow freely, when both perform their own roles and realize they were made to compliment one another and not be a threat.

WEEK 1

AGE IS NOT AN INDICATION OF READINESS, OH! WOW! Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus, Phillipians 2;5.  It starts with our thinking. Teeth is not an indication that a child is ready for meat. Just as age is not an indication that some are ready for promotions.

If they can’t process what’s been given, proves that they are still in an infantile state despite the age. Careful, many have accepted things that have been handed to them but who is responsible the giver or the receiver? I say both but as a parent (giver)  I was always careful that I did not give my children anything that would hurt them or others. Something to think about. Keywords: promotion, child, parent, responsible, process, careful, hurt, others
