Received a picture and it looked like a desert. It looked dry and near death, but there were still signs of life. The picture reminded me of my passion for resurrecting plants. Typically one would look for plants with rich foliage or beautiful buds in bloom, but I purchase plants that most people would not purchase. I have a passion for challenging the odds. I want the plants that is put in the back after it is marked down. The plants that lacks attention. I am sure they have had their days of beauty and richness but over time they were looked over and neglected, causing them to lose their vigor and could no longer photosynthesize. Each day had led them closer and closer to death, if only someone had stopped and given them a little water, cut away the dead things, the process to recovery could have been shortened. Life can only be seen by the eyes of hope.
When I get a plant home, I typically take it out of the pot to access the roots for signs of damage and cut accordingly. Sometimes the only sign of life is buried deep. Imagine the many plants that has been thrown out without being given a chance.
It always amazes me how only a few minutes of attention can make such a difference, for what looked impossible to many, now shows more signs of life. This blesses me because the more the plants gain life, it brings me life.
Life begins with what we can see; the possibilities starts with us. In any situation, if all we are seeing is what’s apparent we miss possibilities, possibilities of life, growth and beauty. Possibilities can only be seen by the eyes that knows hope.
It is the eyes that says it’s probable without proof, based on a presumption with little to no known facts drawn from its beliefs.
When I received a selfie of someone dear to me, I saw death, but because I knew to see them as Christ sees, I saw life. I knew God had a plan for that life. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,Jeremiah 29:11.
There is always a choice to believe what is seen or see the possibilities. As long as there is life regardless of the extent, there is hope. I had to remind myself that I couldn’t be moved by what my eyes had seen.
So my question to us in any situation, “are they signs of death? Have you been looking, wishing and hoping and there’s no change?” Let’s ask ourselves, “what are we speaking or are we opening our mouths at all?” Love the International Standard Version, “The power of the tongue is life and death— those who love to talk will eat what it produces,” Proverbs 18:21.
So could we say then, we have what our tongues have produced? Children doing crazy things and we are declaring that it’s a generational curse? Our situations has remained the same for many years and we are concluding that it’s the way it will always be? You have exhausted every avenue and nothing has made a difference and you are saying, “there is no hope?” Hold on to Life, hold on to every word that He has spoken and know that He who has promised He is faithful. God has not forgotten. But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and livestock with him in the boat. He sent a wind to blow across the earth, and the floodwaters began to recede, Genesis 8:1.
So my question today is, what are you speaking or are you saying anything at all? Have you decided this is just the way it will be? Have you decided that this is the plan of God for your life or your children’s life? You have the power to speak life or death; it is not contingent upon an amount of time. Regardless of the extent of time, it’s not over unless God says it’s over. He has given you the authority, now use it. Use it over every situation. Open your mouth and speak to it until it resurrects! Speak, talk, open your mouth! You have it in you. Pull your weapon out! Speak The Word over your situation. Don’t let what folk say or what the enemy wants you to see, allow you to put a death sentence over what God has promised. Jesus was the promised Messiah, they thought they had put Him away in death but He resurrected on the third day. Hold on to your promise, some may declare it’s over but you have the power to bring it to life.
